Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our team at Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich.

The ideal candidate will have previous relevant work experience in a luxury hospitality environment, knowledge of HACCP standards, and experience with purchasing systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities will include preparing and analyzing proposals, negotiating cost-effective purchases, reviewing proposed products and services, and analyzing market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions.

The successful candidate will also have strong communication and organizational skills, good negotiation and analytical skills, and very good knowledge of German and English, with additional language skills an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and Analyzing Proposals: Prepare and analyze proposals to ensure compliance with company standards and expectations.
  • Negotiating Cost-Effective Purchases: Negotiate cost-effective purchases for all materials and services, adhering to MOHG guidelines and quality specifications.
  • Reviewing Proposed Products and Services: Review proposed products and services to ensure compliance with departmental specifications or standards.
  • Analyzing Market Conditions: Analyze market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Reviewing Supplier Histories: Review supplier histories to ensure they can provide required goods and services.
  • Reviewing Requests and Specifications: Review requests and specifications for cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Standardizing Common Items: Standardize common items to eliminate variations and reduce costs.
  • Analyzing Market and Price Conditions: Analyze market and price conditions for goods and services.
  • Initiating and Implementing Research: Initiate and implement research on new products and technologies.
  • Reviewing Stock Inventory Levels: Review stock inventory levels and purchasing patterns to maximize inventory value.
  • Preparing Purchasing Documents: Prepare purchasing documents and review and approve purchase orders.
  • Establishing Quality Control and Receiving Standards: Establish quality control and receiving standards.

Requirements:

  • Previous Relevant Work Experience: Previous relevant work experience in a luxury hospitality environment.
  • Knowledge of HACCP Standards: Knowledge of HACCP standards.
  • Experience with Purchasing Systems and Microsoft Office: Experience with purchasing systems and Microsoft Office.
