Job Opportunity: Artistic Professor in the Master of Arts in Fine Arts Programme

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced artistic professor to lead our new "Knowledge to Society" major in the Master of Arts in Fine Arts programme. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and profiling this major, representing it within the programme and externally, and working closely with the head of the MFA programme to conceive, organise, implement, and develop it.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and profile the "Knowledge to Society" major
  • Represent the major within the MFA programme and externally
  • Conceive, organise, implement, and develop the major in collaboration with the head of the MFA programme
  • Teach and mentor students in the field of visual arts and media, with a focus on the intersections of art, society, and science
  • Be responsible for one of the MFA programme's cross-major StudioLabs
Requirements:
  • Distinguished career as an artist or artistic mediator at the intersection of science and society
  • Well-documented expertise in critical image-making practices, including methods and media
  • Extensive experience in realising transdisciplinary projects with stakeholders from science, science mediation, and the visual arts
  • Excellent national and international network in the field of the major
  • Good communication skills, ability to work in a team, and at least a master's degree or PhD
  • Teaching experience in higher education and a certificate in Higher Education Teaching (ideally)
  • Understanding of diversity, equality, and inclusion, especially in a university of design, film, and art
  • Research experience/qualifications within the subject area of the major (welcome)
  • High proficiency in English and/or German
