Railway Network Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team at Stadler, a leading manufacturer of rail vehicles. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing template radio architectures, configuring and optimizing Data Communication Systems (DCS) for Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) Systems, and evaluating DCS Design and Architecture to enhance system architecture focusing on Network Security aspects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement template radio architectures, tailoring them to project requirements and integrating performance characteristics according to customer specifications
- Configure and optimize Data Communication Systems (DCS) for Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) Systems
- Evaluate DCS Design and Architecture to enhance system architecture focusing on Network Security aspects
- Manage network administration for CBTC Communication Components
- Conduct system testing and validation of DCS reference architecture and design
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or Computer Science Engineering from a recognized university with a specialization in wired network technologies (layer 2 and 3). Knowledge on wireless networks (Wi-Fi and LTE) is an advantage.
- Proficient in troubleshooting of network issues, especially at layer 2.
- Proficient in principles, practices, methods, and emerging trends in communications engineering
- Hands-on experience in VMWare, Firewall, Network Management Systems and network configuration at layer 2 & 3.
- Hands-on experience on radio design (radio propagation, network layout, antenna selection, fast roaming, radio interference survey, and radio link budget) is an advantage
- Fluent in English; knowledge of German is an advantage
