CERN, a pioneering particle physics laboratory, is seeking an exceptional Electrical Installation Specialist to join its Infrastructure Section. As part of the Site Asset Management (SAM) Group, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical installations for tertiary buildings.

About the Role:

  • Develop feasibility studies and detailed designs for electrical installations, focusing on tertiary buildings with considerations for safety, sustainability, and cost estimates.
  • Create technical specifications and documentation for external contractors.
  • Manage contract tendering and adjudication processes for electrical installations in tertiary building projects.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, including issues, schedules, and costs, throughout all project phases.
  • Techncially coordinate and supervise contractors installing electrical equipment and systems for tertiary buildings.
  • Support internal teams responsible for operating and maintaining existing electrical installations within tertiary buildings.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably with a focus on tertiary building projects.
  • Extensive experience in electrical engineering, particularly with tertiary building projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in supervising and implementing electrical installations, networks, lighting solutions, and automation projects within building services.
  • Hands-on experience in evaluating, proposing, and costing electrical renovation and repair projects, such as office spaces.
  • Strong background in applying technical standards relevant to building design and construction.

Technical Competencies:

  • Construction, testing, and commissioning of electrical circuits and networks, including solar power systems and electrical plants.
  • Design and modeling of low-voltage electrical circuits and networks, such as general boards, inverters, and UPS.
  • Configuration and use of information management systems, including building automation and BMS.
  • Metrics and analytics for electrical activities.
  • Electrical load calculation for different types of equipment, such as lighting and HVAC.

Compensation: The salary for this position is estimated to be around €70,000-€100,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include a comprehensive package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

  • Stand-by duty when needed.
