The Safe Ecosystem Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Switzerland, dedicated to supporting the development of Safe technology and fostering a vibrant ecosystem. As a member of our project team, you'll be part of a dynamic group of over 90 professionals from diverse backgrounds. This role is based in Zug, with many colleagues in Berlin, Germany, and other countries across Europe and beyond.

Job Description:

We're seeking an experienced Legal and Compliance Operations Manager to join our team at the Safe Ecosystem Foundation. In this critical role, you'll focus on contract management, day-to-day legal operations, providing guidance to the Foundation Council, and supporting the legal team in various matters. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing compliance strategies & processes for funding programs and initiatives operated by the Foundation and Safe DAO.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and develop strategies to mitigate potential risks.
  2. Collaborate with the legal team to draft, review, and negotiate agreements and internal regulations.
  3. Manage KYC / KYB processes for programs and funding activities of the Foundation and Safe DAO.
  4. Develop and implement training programs for employees on compliance topics.
  5. Provide regular updates to the Foundation Council on compliance matters.

Requirements:

  • A strong Swiss / EU law or business economics degree.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience either as a lawyer in the financial services industry or as an in-house counsel / compliance officer.
  • Strong negotiation skills, ability to lead contract negotiations and deal directly with senior counsels.
  • An analytical mindset with courage to provide clear guidance based on own assessments, problem-solving ability and mental flexibility to find pragmatic solutions.
  • English on a full professional working proficiency level.
  • Strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced business environment.
