Job Description

**Job Title:** Senior Network Architect

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Architect to join our team at Stadler Rail. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing network architectures that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Network Architectures: Develop and implement network architectures that meet the requirements of our customers, including the integration of performance characteristics and security features.
  • Configure and Optimize Data Communication Systems: Configure and optimize Data Communication Systems (DCS) for Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) systems, ensuring that they meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Evaluate and Enhance System Architecture: Evaluate the design and architecture of DCS to enhance system architecture, focusing on network security aspects and ensuring that the system is secure and reliable.
  • Manage Network Administration: Manage network administration for CBTC communication components, ensuring that the network is running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Conduct System Testing and Validation: Conduct system testing and validation of DCS reference architecture and design, ensuring that the system meets the required standards and specifications.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or Computer Science Engineering from a recognized university with a specialization in wired network technologies (layer 2 and 3).
  • Knowledge and Skills: Proficient in troubleshooting of network issues, especially at layer 2. Proficient in principles, practices, methods, and emerging trends in communications engineering. Hands-on experience in VMWare, Firewall, Network Management Systems, and network configuration at layer 2 & 3. Hands-on experience on radio design (radio propagation, network layout, antenna selection, fast roaming, radio interference survey, and radio link budget) is an advantage.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English; knowledge of German is an advantage.
