IT Director

SAM International GmbH is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of IT to lead the company's IT team across locations.

• Ensure the delivery of a robust and reliable IT infrastructure
• Provide a fantastic user experience for users internationally
• Develop and implement department and supplier SLAs
• Provide expertise and advice at the most senior level on policy and strategy
• Analyse business requirements of all departments to determine its technology needs
• Lead and motivate the IT team
• Ensure effective people management systems are in place, deliver training and progression opportunities, manage business succession needs
• Provide technical and operational support to the department when required

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar
• Proven hands-on approach to tasks and challenges
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role including management responsibility
• Good technical understanding of MS products, VMware, Fortinet, Cisco, Citrix, MSSQL, MS Exchange, SharePoint, Avaya
• In-depth knowledge of analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
• Sound, general understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks, telecommunications
• Excellent project planning and management skills
• Fresh and energetic approach, focussed on delivering continuous improvement
• Demonstrable track record in delivering successful large network solutions
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Willingness to international travel, approx. 25% (peak times)
