Ecotoxicology Specialist

Our Team in Ecotoxicology

We are seeking an Ecotoxicology Specialist for our Chemical Regulation and Food Safety Practice at Exponent. The successful candidate will be based in one of our offices in Harrogate, Derby, London, Dublin, Mannheim, or Basel and will also have the option to work from home.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental risk assessments for plant protection products in accordance with EU legislation (Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009).
• Summarize and interpret scientific data, including study reports and published literature in the area of ecotoxicology, to draw sound conclusions.
• Provide expert advice to clients on plant protection product ecotoxicology and environmental risk assessment issues.
• Perform data gap analysis, develop testing strategies, and monitor ecotoxicology studies.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams and contribute to providing high-level strategic advice to clients and high-quality outputs.

Requirements

• A Sc. or MSc degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, such as biology or environmental science. A Higher Degree (PhD) would be an advantage.
• Significant experience of completing environmental risk assessments under EU plant protection product legislation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong team working skills.
• Sound judgement and decision-making ability.
• Good numeracy skills.
