About the Role

The Senior Transaction Manager will be responsible for managing and mitigating reputational, transactional, and credit risks associated with transactions. This role requires a strong understanding of transactional, reputational, and credit risks, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage risks related to transactions, including credit, operational, compliance, fraud, hedging, freight, and transactional liquidation risks.
  • Prepare transaction sheets for presentation to credit authorities and ensure necessary approvals have been received.
  • Collect and check transaction documents according to credit decisions and first-line controls.
  • Ensure transactions comply with conditions set by credit authorities and meet ING standards for compliance matters.
  • Remit transaction documents for execution to the appropriate support function.
  • Sign off on client instructions and provide green light to supporting functions in collaboration with Relationship Management.
  • Perform credit and compliance checks on transactions and follow up on the execution of payments and documentary instructions.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Management to structure credit facilities and validate them.
  • Attend Credit Committee meetings.

Client Position Monitoring

  • Maintain and update accurate and up-to-date client positions and ensure risk monitoring.
  • Monitor client margins and transactions, including timely loading of goods, payment of receivables, receipt of contracts, and sales instruments.
  • Monitor price risk exposure and hedging positions.
  • Raise risk issues and early warning signals to TMO Team Lead and Relationship Manager.
  • Report risk exposures when required.

Client Relationship

  • Discuss new financing requests with clients in collaboration with Relationship Management.
  • Communicate with clients on all matters related to transactions.
  • Maintain close relationships with clients.
  • Reply to client inquiries within competences.
  • Identify commercial opportunities and collaborate with Relationship Management.
  • Originate transactions within the allocated portfolio.

Team

  • Develop and maintain understanding and knowledge of all desk credit facilities.
  • Act as back-up for any TM colleagues of the same group.
  • Assist TM colleagues in their day-to-day tasks.
  • Be the first point of contact for day-to-day business and communicate with related departments.

Other Risk Management Areas

Maintain the highest possible risk mitigating standards by following risks-related and operational procedures developed by the Bank.

In performing all tasks, the Senior Transaction Manager is responsible and held accountable to ensure that all dealings and transactions are compliant with ING Group policies and Swiss laws and regulations.

Professional and Educational Experience

  • University degree, equivalent background, CFC, or commercial background.
  • 4 years of experience in Trade & Commodities Finance.
