Bachem AG is a leading innovation-driven company specializing in the development and manufacture of peptides and oligonucleotides. The company seeks a highly qualified professional to lead its oligonucleotide research and development organization.

About the Role

  • Lead the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for oligonucleotides in collaboration with customers and internal research projects.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee process development, characterization, and transfer activities, as well as internal process transfers and production support.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop innovative technologies and new reagents/materials.
  • Collaborate with the business development team on cost estimations, proposals, and customer discussions.
  • Represent Bachem AG during customer visits and at conferences and congresses.
  • Oversee all process development and manufacturing activities within the department to ensure deadlines are met and projects are completed within budget.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

About You

  • PhD degree in chemistry or a related field.
  • A minimum of 6 years' experience leading a team, preferably in research and development.
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in oligonucleotide chemistry, preferably in process development.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with German being an advantage.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • High level of flexibility, independence, and ability to work in a team.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
