Job Description

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become part of a group that enables its customers to meet some of the greatest challenges in patient treatment by applying for the position as Automation Lead supporting a new sterile Drug product facility.

This role involves establishing a team of automation engineers and developing it into a high-performing future operation. The Automation Lead will provide leadership to the team with full responsibility for all aspects of line management, including qualification, development, coaching, hiring, compensation decisions, and handling discipline issues.

The Automation Lead will develop automation solutions for new equipment in close collaboration with Plant Engineer Electrical and MES Lead. This includes overseeing integrations between automation systems, supporting all qualifications/validations, and establishing GMP documentation for use, maintenance, and change of systems.

The Automation Lead will manage project activities to meet scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality requirements. Additionally, they will ensure consistency of documentation, use, and maintenance of the site automation systems for Operations, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Leadership experience with ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and foster positive interactions with team members and stakeholders.
• Academic degree (MSc / BSc) in Electrical Engineering or Automation.
• Profound knowledge of systems (e.g., SAP, BMS, PCS, PLC, OSI PI Historian) and GMP.
• Extensive experience in engineering/maintenance preferably in the aseptic manufacturing area.
• Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and foster positive interactions with team members, project organization, and stakeholders.
• Fluency in English and German.
