Role
:As a key member of our team, you will work closely with technical and scientific teams to collect data and write technical descriptions of products or technologies, designs and specifications of inventions for new patent applications, and prepare documents for patent filing.You will assist and support inventors in identifying and defining inventions, and lead the preparation of patent application documents.Additionally, you will assist scientists and patent counsels in the technical analysis of 3rd party prior art related to patentability, Freedom to Operate analysis or patents oppositions.You will be the contact and liaison person between scientists and patent attorneys.Collecting data and preparing technical descriptions of technologies to be analyzed for third-party IP risk assessments or for patent oppositions is also a key responsibility.You will operate competitors patent monitoring, analyze and present results to the internal technology stakeholders, identify patents/patent applications to watch and/or oppose.Carrying out projects such as patent and prior art searches and analyses upon request from technical, marketing or business teams is also a key responsibility.You will aim at taking on the responsibility of the team and leading them to achieve the goals.
PROFILE:
PhD in Chemistry or Physical Chemistry is required.Minimum 5-10 years' experience in industry, preferably in R&D is required.Experience with intellectual property (IP) tasks and patents search tools is essential.Experience in people management is also required.Broad technical knowledge, curiosity and openness to new ideas and technologies are necessary.Strong analytical skills and high attention to details are required.Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact with inventors and patent counsels, strong team spirit are necessary.Excellent organizational and planning skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects with tight deadlines, ability to work with multiple demanding internal customers are required.Demonstrated leadership and capacity to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information are necessary.Proficient with usual IT tools such as MS Office is required.Fluent in French and English; excellent reading and understanding of German are necessary.Why SICPA?
