Job Title: Team Head Mechanical Engineering

Your Mission:

As a Team Head Mechanical Engineering, you will lead a team responsible for proposing, developing, and validating mechanical concepts for our automation solutions. You will ensure that the team adheres to the constraints outlined in the project specifications, including timelines, cost, and quality.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and support a team of around ten mechanical engineers, overseeing recruitment, training, evaluation, and skill development to ensure alignment with the company's values, processes, and standards.
  • Manage the department's workload, determine resource needs, and assign tasks accordingly to ensure timely delivery of mechanical concepts.
  • Plan and organize the team's activities to control costs and maintain high-quality standards and adherence to internal guidelines.
  • Monitor client projects, participate in synchronization reviews, ensure the accuracy of earned value management (EVM) data, identify technical risks, and propose corrective actions.
  • Analyze project performance indicators and take appropriate action when needed, including conducting technical analyses for issues or non-conformities.
  • Contribute to the creation of technical reports and post-project evaluations.
  • Ensure that the company's mechanical standards are applied, and collaborate closely with other engineering teams to harmonize developments.
  • Raise awareness in other departments regarding the service's needs and requirements.
  • Actively promote continuous improvement, both in technical and methodological aspects, to enhance customer satisfaction, equipment quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements to introduce new innovations and technologies in mechanical engineering.
  • Support sales and offer proposals by assessing feasibility, reviewing project specifications, and providing cost estimates.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Machine Construction, with a focus on production and automation (or equivalent qualification).
  • At least 5 years of experience as an engineer in the automation field.
  • Proven leadership skills, demonstrated by your ability to unite a team around common objectives in previous roles.
  • Proficiency in 3D design software (Creo and Windchill) and PDM systems (preferably Autodesk Inventor and Vault).
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft tools, especially Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a high level of precision and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, allowing you to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders (colleagues, suppliers, clients).
  • A proactive personality, results-oriented, with initiative and the ability to offer solutions.
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Possess a constructive and positive attitude, with the ability to build consensus and argue objectively and respectfully.
  • Fluent in English (B2 level minimum), and knowledge of German and Italian would be an asset.
