Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Gas Bearing Engineer to join our R&D team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the conception, calculation, and design of gas bearings, as well as collaborating with other development engineers, production, and quality teams to deliver high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop gas bearings for high-speed turbo compressors and drive systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate gas bearing designs with rotor dynamics, electrical machinery, aerodynamics, thermal system behavior, and production
- Develop and improve gas bearing design and simulation tool chains
- Support commissioning and experimental verification of new gas bearing designs
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Experience in gas bearing design, rotor dynamics, and/or system modeling of high-speed rotor designs
- Proficiency in Matlab and CAD software (e.g. Autodesk Inventor)
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Good knowledge of German is a strong plus
