Scientific Research and Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Research and Development Specialist to join our team at Siegfried AG. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong background in Organic Chemistry and relevant industry experience.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Product Leadership Team (PLT) by addressing production issues related to established active pharmaceutical ingredients (API). You will collaborate closely with various departments while considering production constraints, safety, quality, and environmental aspects.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting the PLT team in evaluating the scientific relevance of laboratory trial requests (e.g. homologations)
- Participating in optimization/improvement projects of established processes
- Identifying opportunities for optimization of commercial processes through deviation and product portfolio analysis
- Planning and coordinating activities of two laboratory technicians
- Editing reports to track R&D investigations/optimisations
To be successful in this role, you should have a PhD in Organic Chemistry and at least 5 years of operational experience in both R&D and manufacturing, preferably in a CMO c-GMP environment. You should be highly structured and systematic in your approach to problem-solving, utilizing tools such as situation diagnosis, process mapping, root cause analysis, decision/risk analysis, and fishbone/5Why's diagrams.
You should also possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to work effectively across multiple departments. Fluency in both French and English is required, and adaptability to new technologies like Process Analytical Technology (PAT) is essential.
