Job Title: Cost Manager

We are seeking an experienced Cost Manager to join our team in Basel, Switzerland. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost management, particularly in the Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals, or Biotech sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre and post-contract duties, including cost estimates, procurement, contract administration, and final account management.
  • Completing feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
  • Estimating and cost planning, including producing and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Tendering and procurement activity, including managing the pre-qualification stage and producing the tender list.
  • Timely and accurate cost checks and valuations.
  • Producing monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client.
  • Interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Participating in cost risk analysis and providing input into value engineering.
  • Negotiating and approving final accounts.
Requirements:
  • Technical knowledge of Life Sciences, Pharma, Biotech, or other related facility asset types for a period of 5 years for CM/QS, 10 years for SCM and above.
  • Good knowledge of all methods of construction and procurement.
  • Experience with multiple estimating tools and applications.
  • Strong experience with spreadsheets and databases.
  • Collaborative approach, with the ability to develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Good organization skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated strong listening and communication skills.
  • Proven cost and/or commercial management experience, ideally within a consultancy environment.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics or equivalent is required.
  • RICS membership or equivalent is required.
  • Strong German language skills are preferred.
