We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join our team at CH10 - BJB Bank Julius Baer & Co. Ltd. in the Americas Region.

Your Challenge

  • As a Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for acting as a dedicated centre of competence and compliance contact for the Region Americas & Iberia.
  • You will perform client onboarding reviews, including assessment of KYC, client storyline, flow of funds, CDB topics, as well as event-triggered KYC reviews.
  • You will support relationship managers and management in the implementation and supervision of Compliance issues.
  • You will conduct internal investigations in cooperation with other specialist departments and Business Management.
  • You will follow up on outstanding onboarding issues and escalations.
  • You will identify and investigate serious cases of non-compliance.
  • You will provide training and training materials in connection with compliance topics.
  • You will support internal compliance projects.
  • You will recommend, develop, and implement solutions to support continuous improvement of our processes, procedures, and services.

Your Profile

  • You will have a Master's degree in law or business administration, with postgraduate studies in Compliance Management or equivalent.
  • You will have 3-5 years of experience in the client onboarding of an international Private Bank or in audit.
  • You will have knowledge of the Swiss regulatory environment, most critically on the AML regulation, and client documentation standards.
  • You will have sound knowledge of the Region Americas & Iberia.
  • You will be fluent in English and Portuguese and/or Spanish (spoken and written), with knowledge of further languages being an advantage.
  • You will have a strong personality with good organizational and operational skills and proven ability to work under pressure.
  • You will have excellent communication skills.
  • You will be proficient in writing concise assessments.
  • You will have a strong sense of integrity and discretion.
  • You will have an independent, efficient, and meticulous work method.
  • You will be solution-oriented.
  • You will have good knowledge of MS Office and IT flair.
