Transformative Opportunity

Bristol Myers Squibb is a pioneer in the pharmaceutical industry, dedicated to transforming patients' lives through science. As an Associate Director, Business Process Optimization & Systems, you will play a pivotal role in driving business process improvement initiatives and implementing system-driven operations.

This strategic position is part of the Cell Therapy External Manufacturing (ExM) organization and reports directly to the Sr. Director Global Business Process & Supplier Digital Strategy. Your primary objective will be to execute priority projects as part of the External Supply Systems Roadmap, focusing on establishing system-driven operations, improving data tracking & reporting, and enabling advanced data exchange across the global ExM network of Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) and Contract Testing Labs (CTLs).

You will work closely with Supplier Relationship Managers and Virtual Matrix Teams to identify areas for improvement, focusing on business process scalability, reliability, and cost effectiveness. This highly flexible role requires strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across multiple time-zones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute prioritized systems projects as part of the External Supply Systems Roadmap, focusing on establishing system-driven operations, improving data tracking & reporting, and enabling advanced data exchange with CMOs and CTLs across the global ExM network.
  • Work with the Supplier Relationship Managers and Virtual Matrix Teams to identify areas for improvement, focusing on business process scalability, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
  • Lead business process improvement projects for External Manufacturing via global cross-functional matrix teams, facilitating alignment and decision-making with key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate business requirements gathering for CMO and CTL network expansion and scale-up, providing input to the External Supply digital strategy.
  • Establish data interfaces between BMS and CMOs/CTLs, focusing on ERP (e.g., batches, POs), production scheduling, demand & capacity management, and production process monitoring.
  • Act as External Manufacturing business systems process SME and project member on cross-functional projects owned by other groups within Cell Therapy Operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, engineering, supply chain, or other relevant area, with an MBA being a plus.
  • More than 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with proven experience in business process automation and external partner systems connectivity.
  • Experience with ERP (e.g., Oracle, SAP) configuration.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of business analytical tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Excel VBA) and related IT systems, with the ability to translate business requirements into user specifications.

$150,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
