About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our publishing team as a Publishing Assistant on a fixed-term basis (one-year maternity leave cover).

Responsibilities
  • Invoice Management: Managing and monitoring invoices and payment requests.
  • Maintaining Systems: Inputting and maintaining relevant journal metadata to systems.
  • Enquiry Handling: Handle general enquiries from within Springer Nature and from external partners, esp. external editors and authors.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Ad hoc journal and team administration.
  • Colleague Liaising: Liaising with Editorial and Publishing Assistants in other publishing divisions and units to share best practices and propose improvements to workflows, operations and communications.
  • Industry Developments: Contributing to the wider Springer Nature Journals group by taking part in cross-departmental projects and initiatives, with respect to publication ethics, data transparency, Open Access policy, and other industry developments.
  • Website Updates: Manage and support journal websites - general updates, featured content, etc.
  • Project Management: Manage ongoing and ad hoc editorial and publishing projects under direction of publishing editors.
