Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Operations Supervisor to lead our organic production team in Visp, Switzerland.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and assess employees to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
  • Embed Lonza's Culture of Safety, Quality, personal development, and continuous learning into daily operations.
  • Prioritize tasks and allocate resources to meet deadlines and drive results.
  • Participate in deviation investigations and improvement projects to enhance processes and quality standards.
  • Maintain security and GMP compliance by ensuring proper protocols and procedures are followed.
  • Create and implement training plans to upskill employees and improve knowledge retention.
  • Recognize and correct deviations promptly to minimize disruptions and maintain efficiency.
  • Analyze cross-functional processes to identify areas for improvement and optimize workflows.
  • Manage administrative tasks such as shift handovers, inspections, and documentation with precision and attention to detail.
Requirements:
  • Multiple years of experience as a shift team leader, deputy, or system specialist in organic production.
  • Certified chemical or biopharmaceutical education (CPT) or equivalent training qualification; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemical Engineering, or related fields is advantageous.
  • Structured approach to work with assertive and motivated attitude, able to work independently, flexibly, and resiliently.
  • Strong commitment to Safety, Quality, Solution Focus, and Cooperation.
  • In-depth knowledge of production processes and interdependencies within large-scale production environments, including detailed understanding of all process steps and systems.
  • Fluency in English (written and oral), with German being an advantage.
  • Willingness to work in shifts (4-shift system).

We offer a competitive salary package, which includes an estimated annual salary of $120,000 - $180,000, depending on qualifications and experience. This figure takes into account the average salary range for this position in Visp, Switzerland.
