Join us at STAEGER PERSONAL PARTNERS, a leading trading company in energy commodities. As a Senior Power Trader, you will be responsible for developing and executing proprietary trading strategies in power markets across Europe and related commodity markets.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Proprietary trading of power and related products, such as spark-spreads, EUAs, natural gas, coal, and oil in wholesale energy markets
  • Generating positive profit and loss (PnL) based on your own analysis of market conditions
  • Focusing on mid- and long-term products with typical trading tenors ranging from month ahead to Y+2
  • Building and developing market models and trading strategies
  • Demonstrating profitable success in running a proprietary trading book
  • Ensuring the ETRM system is operated to the required standard to maintain accurate and secure records

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • 5-7 years of experience as a Power Trader in European Area in energy commodity trading
  • A proven ability to generate trading profits in energy markets with a profitable track record
  • Techncial ability to develop own trading strategies
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Advanced English language skills, with another European language being an advantage
  • Analytical skills and structured thinking
  • Able to work independently and as part of a cohesive team
  • Creativity and independent thought when solving problems
  • A valid EU passport or Swiss work permit is mandatory
  • Already based in Switzerland or within commuting distance
