Aptiv is seeking a seasoned Intellectual Property Counsel with a strong background in software licensing to play a critical role in guiding our organization through the complex landscape of intellectual property, software licensing, and data-related legal matters.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate and review software license agreements, advising supply chain management teams on risks and developing processes.
- Draft and negotiate Commercial Intellectual Property contracts and documents with suppliers and customers pertaining to software.
- Support Information Security, Cybersecurity, and Privacy related contracts, processes, policies, investigations, and reviews.
- Advise and consult on matters related to Free and Open Source Software, and assist business with related compliance issues.
- Guide engineers and supply-chain teams on legal implications related to software, machine learning, and data products.
Your Background
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an IP Lawyer with a strong focus on software licensing.
- Technical background in software or computer science is required to understand and navigate the complexities of software-related intellectual property.
- Excellent negotiation and contract drafting skills.
- Strong knowledge of intellectual property laws, including patent, copyright, and trademark.
- Familiarity with information security, cybersecurity, and privacy regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional communication and analytical skills.
