About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Identity Engineer to join our Internet Identity team at DFINITY. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing the next-generation infrastructure for self-sovereign identity and verifiable credentials.

Your Responsibilities

  • Extend the existing Internet Identity (II) and Verifiable Credentials (VC) platform with features and tooling to support the growth of our decentralized computing and identity ecosystem.
  • Develop technical documentation for other developers to integrate with our II/VC platform, ensuring seamless collaboration and innovation.
  • Design and implement decentralized applications (dApps) that showcase the capabilities of Internet Identity, driving adoption and user engagement.
  • Iterate rapidly on Proof of Concept implementations, leveraging your expertise to drive innovation and improvement.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather user requirements and designs, translating them into functional code that meets the needs of our users.

Your Background

  • Proven experience in web2 authentication and authorization standards, implementations, and products, including OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SAML, WebAuthn, Okta, Auth0, and others.
  • Familiarity with Verifiable Credentials specifications and implementations, such as the W3C VC Data model.
  • Proficiency in front-end development with or without frameworks, ideally with Typescript, and not afraid of CSS.
  • Experience with back-end languages such as Rust or other languages used by leading identity platforms, including Java or Go.
  • Developing secure identity products in web2 or web3 ecosystems, with a focus on user privacy and security.
  • Product engineering expertise, having built web3 or web2 applications from requirements to deployment, testing, and maintenance.
