About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead to join our team at Leica Geosystems. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for leading the development of algorithms concerning computer vision in our manipulation pipeline.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the requirement engineering, concept definition, and architecture of the system for detection, classification, and tracking of objects in the robot's environment.
  • Evaluate, test, and implement state-of-the-art methods and adapt them to our needs.
  • System integration and building product out of cutting-edge research results.
  • Deliver reliable software through code reviews, continuous integration, and automated testing.
  • Write high-performance code in Python and sometimes in C++.
  • Work in a startup-like environment within a global company, with flat hierarchies and high personal influence.
Requirements
  • Masters/PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar.
  • Passion for leading and mentoring engineers.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional industry experience in 3D vision, object detection & tracking, and sensor fusion.
  • Experience interfacing and processing data from RGB and RGBD cameras for robotic applications.
  • Strong theoretical understanding of the algorithms typically used.
  • Experience training and deploying learning-based computer vision models.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in English required, basic German skills advantageous.
