About Our Client

We are a globally recognized Life Science company seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to support our team focusing on divestments and contract manufacturing business. This is a maternity cover position for at least 8 months, ideal for a legal professional looking to make a meaningful impact.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert legal guidance on divestiture projects, ensuring compliance and protecting the company's interests.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating critical contracts such as asset purchase agreements, share purchase agreements, and service agreements.
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential legal risks and handling disputes effectively.
  • Working closely with interdisciplinary teams to address complex legal implications comprehensively.
  • Managing relationships with external legal counsel to ensure efficient handling of complex cases.

The Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate has a solid legal background with expertise in M&A and contract law within the pharmaceutical industry. Key qualifications include:

  • Fully qualified lawyer in the UK or an EU jurisdiction, with at least 10 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a deep understanding of technical pharma agreements.
  • Expertise in civil and contract law, with proven experience handling complex M&A transactions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with a collaborative and business-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities; fluency in English is required, and proficiency in an additional European language is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with global stakeholders.
