About the Company
At this stage, we can tell you that the company, located in the Canton of Basel, specializes in industrial automation and custom machine development. They are currently looking for a PLC Automation Engineer to focus on PLC system development and take responsibility for designing and implementing advanced automation solutions tailored to client needs.
Challenges
You will use your automation expertise to design and develop state-of-the-art PLC systems, optimizing the performance and efficiency of custom machines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Implementation: Create and integrate PLC solutions for specialized machines, leveraging platforms such as TIA Portal and Codesys.
- System Optimization: Evaluate and enhance automation systems to maximize efficiency and ensure alignment with client requirements.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical and mechanical engineers, to deliver seamless solutions.
- On-Site Commissioning: Oversee the installation and commissioning of complex systems directly at client locations.
- Provide technical assistance to clients and field technicians for troubleshooting and performance enhancements.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain technical documentation, including manuals and operational guidelines.
Your Profile
- Education: Degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering, automation, or an equivalent qualification (FH/HF).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in PLC programming, particularly using TIA Portal and Codesys.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, and BACnet.
- Familiarity with network technologies like TCP/IP and OPC.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical abilities with a problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex concepts to clients and stakeholders.
- Languages: Proficiency in English (written and spoken); German is a strong plus.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel occasionally for client support and system commissioning.
