We are currently seeking an experienced Oracle Architect to join our team in Basel, Switzerland. This is a full-time opportunity for a seasoned professional with strong hands‑on expertise in Oracle technologies, enterprise architecture, and database optimization within the Banking and Financial Services domain. Role Overview As an Oracle Architect and Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Oracle‑based solutions. You will play a strategic and technical leadership role, leading large‑scale database migrations, ensuring system performance and security, and collaborating with business and technical stakeholders. The role also involves production support, data analysis, and hands‑on work with tools such as AppDynamics, Delphix, Power BI, and Qlik. Key Responsibilities - Solution Design & Implementation: architect, design, and develop solutions using Oracle technologies across on‑premises and hybrid environments. - Database Migrations & Modernization: lead large‑scale migrations from legacy systems to Oracle databases, as well as Oracle‑to‑Oracle transitions; support database EOSL migrations and modernize applications using the latest Oracle technologies. - Performance & Security Optimization: monitor, tune, and secure Oracle databases at query, instance, and design levels; establish and maintain best practices for performance, scalability, and cost‑efficiency. - Technical Leadership: provide mentorship, guidance, and technical expertise to project teams; ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards and methodologies using Enterprise Architect (EA) tool. - Production Monitoring & Support: use AppDynamics for production database monitoring and custom alert configuration to ensure proactive issue prevention; provide Level 2 and Level 3 production support and resolve incidents within SLA. - Data on Demand (Delphix): utilize Delphix to support Data on Demand requirements; configure and maintain Delphix environments for efficient data provisioning and refreshes. - Data Analysis & Reporting: conduct data analysis using Power BI, Qlik, Python, and R to generate insights and deliver critical business reports. - Database Administration (DBA) Activities: perform database backups, cloning, and restarts as required; collaborate with System DBAs to resolve infrastructure‑related issues. - Collaboration & Documentation: work with cross‑functional teams, including release managers, QA, and business stakeholders, to deliver reliable database solutions; document architectural decisions, technical specifications, and data models; maintain code and documentation in GIT and Odyssey Wiki for version control. - Business Reporting: act as the single point of contact for critical business ad‑hoc report delivery within defined SLAs, ensuring compliance and supporting business decision‑making. Skills & Experience Required - 18+ years of hands‑on experience with Oracle Database technologies. - Proven experience designing, implementing, and optimizing Oracle database solutions. - Strong background in Banking and Financial Services with large, complex relational datasets. - Expertise in Enterprise Architect (EA) tool and enterprise architecture design principles. - Proficiency in AppDynamics and Delphix tools. - Experience in data analytics using Power BI, Qlik, Python, and R. - Solid understanding of performance tuning, database security, and high‑availability configurations. - Experience providing L2/L3 production support in mission‑critical environments. - Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and stakeholder management skills. - Strong communication and documentation skills with a structured, methodical approach.
