If you're interested in leading a team of experienced engineers and researchers to work on exciting projects that have significant impact, we encourage you to apply.Software Engineer (TL) - Human Understanding (Physiology,Activity,State) Responsibilities* Drive the team's goals and technical direction to pursue opportunities that make your larger organization more efficient* Effectively communicate complex features and systems in detail* Understand industry and company-wide trends to help assess & develop new technologies* Partner and collaborate with organization leaders to help improve the level of performance of the team and organization* Identify new opportunities for the larger organization and influence the appropriate people for staffing/prioritizing these new ideas* Lead long term technical strategy and roadmap for large cross-company efforts* Suggest, collect and synthesize requirements and create an effective feature and technology roadmap* Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues, and drive large efforts to reduce technical debtMinimum Qualifications* Programming experience in C++ and Python* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience* Proven track record of planning multi-year roadmap in which short-term projects ladder to the long-term mission* Proven track record of leading exploratory projects from ideation to proof-of-concepts* Experience driving large cross-functional, company or industry-wide engineering efforts* Experience utilizing data and analysis to explain technical problems and provide detailed feedback and solutions* Experience communicating and working across functions to drive solutions* Experience mentoring/influencing experienced engineers across organizations* Experience in manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume data from varying sources* Experience in machine learningPreferred Qualifications* PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Signal Processing, Robotics Human-Computer Interaction, Biomedical Engineering or related)* Proven track record of leading design and deployment end-to-end systems for consumer-facing hardware (such as edge devices, wearables) demonstrated through leading complex projects involving hardware sensors, signal processing, machine learning for real-world data, and the development of edge/cloud computation* Experience in building scalable data pipelines, model training, and deployment frameworks for wearables or mobile devices* Experience with large-scale model training, transfer learning, and data-efficient ML* Experience building and maintaining SDKs or developer platforms for ML/data-driven productsAbout MetaMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
