Consultant (12 months, home-based): Consultant for Baby-friendly Hospital Initiative, Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP)

Your tasks - Summary: - - - Responsible for the oversight and management of the Metal’s departments and all manufacturing support functions in a world-class plant operation’s manner. Is responsible for supervising all employees in a timely completion of all work orders to meet quality and efficiency standards, as well as providing a collaborative approach to excellence in safety, process compliance, and operational excellence activities . - - - Primary Responsibilities: - - - The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: - - - o Responsible for providing safety leadership within the metal’s team, including development of new safety policies and procedures to support world-class practices. - - o Provides strong leadership and mentorship of the metal team by promoting high standards. - - o Exhibits strong organizational skills and the ability to sustain. - - o Assists in the hiring, training, and supervision of metal staff, providing guidance and fostering a positive, employee-centric work environment. - - o Supervises daily work tasks and schedule for department activities. - - o Evaluate and disciplines employees as required, according to company policies. - - o Promote 5S and good housekeeping practices throughout the department. - - o Active participation in the hazardous communication program. - - o Investigate and report on all labor variances. - - o Adhere and train employees to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18001 certification requirements. Your profile - Knowledge and Skill Requirement: - - - This position should possess the following skills/knowledge: - - - o High School Diploma. Engineering or Industrial degree preferred. - - o Prefer 5 years’ experience in the fabrication and assembly of metal products or heavy manufacturing field. - - o Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams. - - o Provides guidance and fosters a positive work environment. - - o Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel, as well as key stakeholders. - - o Strong 5S, housekeeping skills that align with world-class manufacturing programs. - - o Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to analyze and make informed decisions. - - - - - - o Understands the principles and tools of Operational Excellence with previous experience preferred. - - o Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), previous ERP experience preferred. - - o Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-shift environment. - - - - Environmental / Atmospheric Conditions: - - - o Typical office/factory environment with exposure to ambient temperatures in un-conditioned production areas. - - o Exposure to general production machine noise levels. - - o Exposure to hazards such as electrical and moving mechanical parts. - - - - Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: - - - o Must be able to be on the shop floor for a minimum of 50% of the workday. During this time, it may include walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time. - - o Must be able to withstand extreme seasonal temperature conditions. - - o Required to lift 50 pounds and move odd, shaped objects (desks, tables, etc.). - - o Required to work a 40-hour work week with overtime as required to support plant operations. - - o Each employee is required to wear eye, hearing and foot protection.
