The Engineering Director leads the Global Engineering department of Hug Engineering (~ 55 people).

The main responsibilities are the following:

  • Strategical
    • Product Roadmap
    • Team Strategy (Competency & Footprint)
  • Technical Product & Process
    • Costumer Project Review 
    • Development Project Review 
    • Technical Expertise 
    • Complex Projects analysis, layout & approval
    • Tool selection and strategy
    • Development Process 
  • Customers & Partners 
    • External representation
    • Sales support (Material)
    • Engineering sales (Offer follow up, etc.)
  • Team management
    • Coaching & Mentoring
    • Team Administration for Direct Report (10)
  • Financial
    • Budget and Forecast 
    • Engineering Controlling support

The Engineering Director will have additional duty as Member of the Hug Leadership Team.

YOUR PROFILE: 

  • Higher education degree (Master or PhD in Engineering) 
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in an industrial environment including at least 5 years leadership experience in a global environment 
  • Deep understanding of Internal Combustion Engine and Emissions reductions technologies  
  • Good understanding of Industrial Automation Systems (PLC, Safety integrated level) & Large scale SteelWork assemblies
  • Experience in Marine or Stationary applications is highly desirable
  • Experience with Marine Class Societies is an advantage 
  • Good financial knowledge 
  • English & German fluent (minimum C1 level)
  • Customer and Results orientation
  • Excellent communication skills and capability to influence and negotiate
  • Strong Leadership and management skills: proven ability to establish, develop, lead and coach a team
