CSL Vifor is currently undergoing unprecedented growth and portfolio diversification, thus this is a truly unique opportunity to contribute to the development of our leading positions in iron deficiency, nephrology and cardio-renal therapies. The purpose of this position is to develop, lead and deliver Patient advocacy, Innovation and Access Policy strategies in support of the Global Head of Policy and Advocacy and support high-level external relations for CSL Vifor with political institutions, patient advocacy groups and related networks at the global level. The jobholder will work closely with identified key decision makers, policy formulations and influencing groups to achieve positive outcomes for all external stakeholders. He/she will influence external stakeholders to change policy in support of ongoing innovation in the pharmaceutical industry and patients’ access to healthcare. The role can be based in Belgium (preferred) or Switzerland. Your tasks will be the following, but not limited to:

- Lead and provide support to the Global Head of Policy and Advocacy on Patient Advocacy, Innovation & Access Policy strategy execution at global level.
- Develop and execute policy push initiatives to shape the external environment to address critical business needs
- Contribute to the CSL Vifor enterprise-wide Horizon Scan, monitor cross-border and key national level external policies and regulations, disseminate strategic implications
- Builds, maintains, and grows a network of policy makers and policy stakeholders for CSL Vifor and regularly engages with representatives of national and international organizations/authorities, with particular focus on engaging representatives of EU institutions (EC, EP, COU), the WHO, and national decision makers (MoHs, MoF, etc)
- Coordinates affiliate teams in influencing policy-making in their countries
- Support CSL Vifor’s trade association participation
- Contributes to a favorable legal and policy environment to support pipeline and inline products
- Influences and mobilizes internal business partners and external stakeholders to deliver change
- Is an active and integral member of the business team and collaborates extensively with cross-functional teams to align on business strategy
- Represents CSL Vifor among franchise specific global and regional patient and clinician groups
- Oversees the execution of programs that establish a common approach to Advocacy planning and execution
- Collaborates with Patient & Innovation Policy colleagues to align on therapy specific government policy priorities and integrates patient and clinician advocates as part of influencing tactics
- Collaborates with internal Compliance team regarding policies and processes that impact interactions with patient organizations
- Establishes internal programs that drive Advocacy understanding, competency and skill levels among national teams
- Develops internal communications programs that broaden wider awareness and understanding of the role of Advocacy within the company
- Interacts with HEOR team on therapy specific programs
- Works closely with Medical Affairs regarding interaction with medical professionals in their Advocacy capacity on therapy specific programs

The knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of this position are typically acquired through the following combination of education, experience and knowledge, or the equivalent.

Minimum Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Political Science, Economics, Health Economics, Law, Public Policy/Public Administration
- 10 years of experience in government affairs and patient advocacy, ideally experience of company and institutions
- Holds a strong network among policy stakeholders and patient organizations in Brussels and beyond
- Solid knowledge of the EU legislative and decision making process + experience at country level
- Work well under pressure
- Project management skills
- Has experience executing strategy at country level and coordinating policy and advocacy engagement in regional or global role
- Language requirement: English plus one other language
