**Manufacturing Excellence - Raw Materials Management in MOS**

**for 6 to 12 months starting on 01.02.2024 in Corsier-sur-Vevey**

Our site at Corsier-sur-Vevey, Switzerland, is Merck's prime hub for the manufacturing of biotech medicines for patients from all over the world and plays an instrumental role in the growth of our Healthcare business sector and the launch of new medicines. Established in 1999, the Corsier-sur-Vevey site is Merck's global center of expertise for the large-scale production of drug substances for Merck's biotech medicines making it one of the largest and most technologically advanced biotech manufacturing plants in the world with 4 production suites and 150'000 liters bioreactor capacity.

**What we offer**:
Join our Manufacturing Operational Support (MOS) team to dive into the world of operational manufacturing. Collaborate with industry experts to manage the full spectrum of raw materials used across our diverse on-site processes. This immersive internship presents a comprehensive outlook on manufacturing, encompassing tasks like evaluating alternatives, processing supplier change notifications, qualification and driving optimizations from the shop floor. You'll play a pivotal role in inputting and tracking these activities within our digital quality and ERP systems. Finally, we welcome your fresh perspective to help challenge and enhance our processes. Gain experience and understanding of the manufacturing environment and regulatory standards governing biopharmaceutical products through this dynamic opportunity.

To get a more concrete flavor, below are the main missions:
**1/ Qualification process**
- Establish User Requirement Specification (URS)
- Review and refine the content/format of URS
- Create electronic fill-in forms
- Streamline the flow including establishment of a roles and responsibilities (R&R) matrix
- Qualification of process aids (simplified qualification)
- Review and optimize protocols (ex: rationalize the number and relevance of tests) while ensuring compliance with GMP requirements

**2/ Raw material database: inactive codes management**
- Cleaning of the database including initiation of the deactivation process whenever possible
- Simplify the flow including responsibilities and interactions among involved stakeholders (Supplier Quality Management, Supply, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing) and implement solutions to ensure completion of all associated tasks in timely manner

**3/ Optimization**
- Conduct voice-of-customer analysis to identify opportunities for process improvement. Based on shop-floor feedback and industry benchmark, suggest initiatives to enhance end-user experience and/or support our sustainability efforts

**Your profile**:

- Student in Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Life science or chemical engineering (Master's or Bachelor's degree)
- Highly motivated with a focus on process improvement
- Detail-oriented and rigorous
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written in French (English is a plus)
