Knowledge of majors Unix Distribution: IBM AIX, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Solaris

Knowledge of one major Backup Software of the market

General understanding of distributed computing architectures, e.g. Client / Server, Internet / Intranet, Entreprise

General understanding of the underlying operating system, e.g. Windows, Unix, Linux

General understanding of storage technologies, memory management, disk arrays, NAS/SAN, networking

General understanding of routine maintenance, recovery, and handling failover of a Database

Specific Competencies

Install and configure AIX operating systems and IBM Power servers.

Maintain and upgrade the AIX OS.

Install and test AIX OS patches.

Develop procedures for AIX security and management.

Update standard policies according to environment changes and audit results.

Develop performance improvement initiatives for AIX system environment.

Identify and resolve system issues in a timely manner.

Plan and coordinate the installation, testing, and maintenance of AIX systems software and related IBM Power servers.

Plan and execute AIX projects within approved timelines.

Analyze software and hardware environments to determine any system defects.

Maintain documentation of AIX hardware and software components and user and operator procedures.

Develop data backups and retrieval techniques in case of failure, redundancy, etc.

Detect and troubleshoot system operational and functional issues.

Perform performance maintenance routines to ensure continuous system availability.

Develop and implement disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.

Be patient, meticulous and logical in his work and capable of prioritizing tasks.

Good problem solving, analytical, administrative, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are also important.

- Education: Engineer

**Experience**:

- Years of experience: 3-7 : intermediate
- Experience required: Minimum 3 years of experience as confirmed AIX System Administrator General understanding of distributed computing architectures, e.g. Client/Server, Internet/Intranet, Enterprise General understanding of the underlying operating system, e.g. Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SOLARIS, Microsoft Windows General understanding of storage technologies, memory management, disk arrays, NAS/SAN, networking
- Experience in private banking: Optional
