Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Trademark Brand Paralegal - Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). This position may be located in Zug, Switzerland, Neuss, Germany, or Issy Les Moulineaux, France.

- Executes domestic and international trademark searches, including trademark screening and searching online as well is evaluation of search results and opinions, to determine availability and scope of potential rights;
- Conducts preliminary analysis, solicits and reviews opinions of outside counsel, and makes recommendations to in-house counsel regarding office actions, oppositions, cancellations and infringement actions;
- Reviews packaging, websites, advertising copy and evidence of use, and liaises with business partners regarding the same;
- Assists in the review and preparation of draft settlement agreements, coexistence agreements, letters of consent, undertakings, licenses, registered user agreements and other domestic and international agreements;
- Provides support and due diligence in connection with transactional matters.
- Participates in department initiatives, committees and projects.
**Qualifications** Position Requirements**:
- Associate's degree or equivalent
- 6-8 years + of domestic and international trademark experience. In-house trademark experience is preferred.
- Fluency in English
- Firm knowledge of domestic and international laws, regulations, and procedures relating to trademark prosecution and conflict matters is required
- Exhibits knowledge of docket management and research tools and demonstrates ability to generate reports and manage personal and attorney deadlines utilizing these tools
- Experience conducting preliminary trademark screens and creating reports on research results for purposes of trademark clearance or trademark prosecution strategy
- Proficiency in using Clarivate trademark search tools, including SAEGIS and TMgo365, as well as reviewing and reporting out relevant watch notices
- Experience with the copy review process, including the review of marketing materials, labeling, and websites, identifying trademark issues and clearance opportunities
- Experience working with outside counsel, reviewing correspondence, summarizing action items, and making recommendations to attorney supervisors, adding value to all correspondence
- Experience working directly with business clients, including performing intake of new search projects, answering questions about search results, and providing training and guidance in the trademark search, clearance, prosecution, and renewals process
- Experience supporting acquisitions and divestitures, including the preparation of trademark charts, conflicts, agreements, and disputes, and the preparation of and filing of trademark assignment documents relating to some
- Experience ordering and reporting full trademark availability searches for multi-national projects involving multiple marks in multiple countries
- Demonstrates ability to analyze and resolve legal and procedural issues under the direction of an attorney
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work as a part of a team, as well as to work proactively, independently and balance competing priorities is required
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and respond to change
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and close attention to detail is required.
