Battery Metals Broker

We are looking for an ambitious applicant, who shares our mission of a low carbon future, to join our Battery Metals desk.

**Who We Look For**
- Degree in Sustainable Finance, Environmental Studies, Mathematics, Business, Commodity Trading
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in brokering, sales or trading metals with a track record of success. Ideal experience is in Cobalt, Lithium, Nickel, Battery Graphite or Aluminium though other metals can be equivalent
- Worked to develop a new market
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship building skills
- Commercial mindset and hunger to succeed in a competitive commission-based environment
- Solid understanding of the markets and related terminology
- Ability to multitask and quickly understand and analyse complex information
- Technical understanding of derivatives and financial derivatives (futures, options, swaps)
- Computer literate (Excel proficiency to a strong level) with excellent numeracy skills
- Fluency in English; fluency in Mandarin will be an added advantage

**What You Will Do**

You will be responsible:

- Continually speaking to customers, negotiating and closing deals in derivative and physical markets relating to battery metals and more generally electric vehicle materials
- Prospecting for clients and business development (cold calling, qualifying, building the pipeline of deal)
- Monitoring and analyzing market performance internationally and communicating it to customers
- Writing daily market updates, news summaries, performing forward curve assessments and producing daily market letters
- Networking to attract new clients, to build and maintain relationships with existing customers
- Engaging with battery metals market players, relevant PRA agencies, analysts, and exchanges to evaluate and identify the need for new derivatives contracts in the space
