**1. Summary**
The Head of AFC (Anti-Financial Crime) is accountable for the oversight of the Bank’s Financial Crime program, including KYC, AML, Sanctions and Embargo, Fraud and Bribery & Corruption regulations in Switzerland. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining and developing robust processes and partnering with the senior compliance management team in Switzerland to maintain a strong AML risk framework for the businesses.

**2. Position Specific Responsibilities**
The AFC function focuses on the adherence and policy management for Risk Types (Fraud, Bribery & Corruption, Money Laundering and Sanctions & Embargos) in the Swiss region.

The Head of AFC is the senior point of contact within the AFC Group responsible for the Switzerland region, coordinating all aspects of Financial Crime compliance across Switzerland and managing a dedicated team of AFC professionals. The person is also accountable for all matters regarding the organisation of the Unit. This includes in particular the following tasks:
**Strategy**:Defines and ensures effective implementation of relevant strategies and key operating procedures for the AFC function in region Switzerland.

**Governance & Organisational Guidance**:

- Acts as the primary point of contact for the Swiss regulators, internal audit and government/ law enforcement bodies and ensure that enquiries from agencies or police authorities, exchanges and clients are promptly and thoroughly addressed.
- Ensures desk compliance procedures are available and up to date. This will involve internal co-ordination, and liaison with professional advisors and relevant industry working groups to ensure DB is aware of and implements industry best practice.
- Oversees and directs AML processes, including know-your customer, client due diligence, enhanced due diligence and suspicious transaction reviews and reporting.
- Supervises AML monitoring efforts within Switzerland, working with onshore and near-shore Compliance and Operations colleagues.
- Manages, or assists in, the timely resolution, of exchange, regulatory or internal investigations and enquiries.
- Oversees and manages objectives for the AFC professionals responsible for administering the bank's AFC policies, procedures and processes across Switzerland
- In the capacity of MLRO, is accountable to the governing bodies of each authorised entity and to the Swiss Regional Governance Board, as required.
- Prepares and presents, annually, the MLRO report to the governing bodies of each authorised entity, as required and to the Swiss Operating Committee / Swiss Regional Governance Board.
- Undertakes regular entities visits as appropriate to ensure that AFC processes are being effectively implemented and suggest improvements
- Ensures that there is an AFC approval of New Product Approval requests.
- Ensures that there is review and analyse relevant regulatory notices in conjunction with Global AFC staff. Liaises and advises front line businesses to ensure compliance with regulatory developments
- Reviews and updates relevant policies and procedures.

**Advisory**:

- Provides AFC related advice to senior leadership and management teams, including the assessment of Financial Crime risks and the identification and interpretation of applicable laws and regulations.

**Collaboration & Support**:

- Provides periodic reports and updates regarding Fraud & Investigations matters to various committees, Global management, Regional management and the business.
- Partners and works with Group AFC colleagues to enhance processes and ensure, as appropriate, consistency in policies, procedures and controls in respect to Swiss booked business.
- Works closely with relevant business management to assist with regulatory compliance across all relevant product types.
- Works closely, cooperatively and proactively with other members of the Advisory Compliance team, and with other AFC colleagues, in order to achieve first rate advisory coverage of the relevant businesses.
- Liaises effectively with other control functions to support the above processes.

**Framework Design Overview**:

- Develops and delivers AFC training (including Compliance/AFC induction training) to the business, as requested/ required.
- In conjunction with Group AFC, tracks emerging Money Laundering and Sanctions legislation and regulation. As appropriate, in partnership with the business, develops and implements new policies, procedures and controls, in order to address these new legislative or regulatory requirements. Lead the firm's involvement in inspections, reviews and enquires undertaken by regulators relating to Money Laundering and Sanctions relating to this region.
