About the job

The Refinery Economist is in charge of optimizing the refinery margin and production plan. He is working in close relation with the Economic, Production and Technology departments as well as the Corporate Supply Chain.

Tasks and responsibilities
- Running the Refinery LP (Linear Programming Tool)
- Prepare and present the optimum plans at the “Swiss Fuel Value Chain” weekly call
- Weekly preparation of the operating instructions batch optimization.
- Prepare the Production Plan Month+1
- Lead several meetings about economical drives with Production, Technology and other departments
- Prepare and participate to the monthly meeting about performance and strategy of the Swiss Fuel Value Chain
- Keep the margin indicators up-to-date
- Refinery focal point concerning the price set "up-to-date-process" in relation with the Supply Chain Manager
- Monitor the daily refinery performance, analyzing deviation against main economical drives and discussing with operation, technology and scheduling about corrective actions.
- Be the focal point for gasoline, middle-distillates and fuel oil pools optimization
- Identify some potential improvements through sensitivities
- Keep the Refinery LP and the Scheduling Tool up-to-date in relation to the Units & Products Scheduler and the LP modelers

**Qualifications**:

- University degree in Chemical engineering or mathematics
- 5 years experience as a Refinery Economist will be considered an asset
- Good level of English and French both spoken and written is mandatory
