Scientist - Protein Analytics

BioTalent are supporting a ground-breaking biotech organisation based in southern Switzerland, specialising in biophysics drug discovery and research and have a passion for their people and culture.

We have been tasked with finding a Protein Analytics Specialist who will be responsible for leading challenging analytical projects, developing and optimising methods, using state-of-the-art techniques and collaborating seamlessly with talented colleagues in a modern interdisciplinary environment.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Characterising recombinant proteins such as monoclonal antibodies, nanobodies, engineered molecules, ligands and receptors with a variety of biochemical and biophysical techniques.
- Carrying out advanced techniques to evaluate protein stability, solubility, oligomeric states and chemical stability e.g. HPLC (SEC, RP, IEX), UV, florescence-spectroscopy and dynamic/static light scattering.
- Using your protein analysis expertise to monitor the purity, identity and activity of proteins - Western Blotting, SDS-PAGE, a variety of enzyme assays and analytical characterisations.
- Developing bespoke analytical methods by quantifying, characterisation and optimising the quality of your assays.
- Conducting characterisation and QC methods on antibodies and antigens whilst being aware of GLP requirements.
- Actively contributing to protein engineering/production discussions, evaluating results and proposing recommendations.
- 3rd party stakeholder collaboration, liaising with vendors, manufacturers and laboratory operations teams with implementing new scientific and technological developments.

**You will bring the following**:

- PhD/Masters in **Biochemistry**, **Physical Chemistry**, **Biophysics** or a similar field.
- A broad working knowledge in protein characterisation with techniques such as UV, CD, F-S, HPLC and dynamic/static light scattering.
- English professional fluency.
