**Job Details**
This position is responsible to provide primary and emergency nursing care for all Norman plant employees as well as planning, developing and implementing programs and activities associated with promoting wellness, providing professional health services and coordinating and processing Worker’s Compensation/disability claims.
**What you'll do**
- Renders first-aid treatment to employees and persons who sustain injury or become ill on Company property.
- Arranges transportation services and professional outside medical attention for serious accident and emergency case and render such available interim treatment as may be necessary.
- Maintains inventory of supplies, medications and equipment for the plant medical section.
- Maintains detailed case records as to nature of injuries, illnesses and treatments.
- Consults with and advises management as to Worker’s Compensation, disability and/or medical insurance claims; may represent the Company’s interest at hearings related to such claims.
- Counsels employees on health problems, making referrals to the family physician or appropriate social agencies.
- Maintains contacts with employees confined at home or hospitalized with injuries or illnesses and assist with adjustment of employees returning to work as to nature and extent of job activity assigned, extended treatment, etc.
- Provides CPR and first-aid instruction to supervisors and safety technicians on basic treatment of minor injuries.
- Coordinates semi-annual employee Blood Drives.
- Processes pre-employment physicals and administer drug/alcohol testing in accordance with Company policy.
- Performs annual hearing tests and keep related records on all plant employees.
- Maintains the Company’s OSHA log, provide regular disability status reports, complete state required Worker’s Compensation reports and provide various other reports as requested.
- Maintains employee medical files and processes all disability claims.
- Develops a good understanding of other human resources functions and activities.
- Other duties may be assigned.
**What you'll need**:
- Current Nursing License. (LPN/RN/BSN)
- Strong administrative and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of related Company policies and procedures.
- Experience in Occupational Safety is a HUGE PLUS
- Some EHS knowledge and/or Manufacturing Safety working knowledge is a HUGE PLUS
