The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As Engineering Director supporting the EMEA Organization, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Managing a team of international employees across EMEA to support engineering and capital projects for all 3M sites in the region.- Ensures alignment of the capital investment plan with the Manufacturing Operations and Business groups strategic plans and financial goals. Understands financial statements and the impact capital investments have on the business’ P&L. Provides input related to capital needs, plans, and impact to unit cost and manufacturing plants.- Represents capital-related interests in decision making, including factors such as technology options, investment requirements, code requirements, acquisition reviews, renewal spending, and site selection.- Optimizes an organization with the capacity and capability to support the capital plan for assigned groups.- Effectively leverages corporate and external resources to achieve productivity and financial goals.- Drives capital project execution for manufacturing, laboratory, and other areas of assigned groups.-
- Plays a key role in the development of corporate engineering resources and technical expertise through the recruiting, hiring, and ongoing training of department personnel.- Ensures compliance to environmental, health, safety, regulatory, intellectual property, and accounting requirements. Complies with corporate policies and procedures.- Lead the transformation to an automated operation.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Science or Engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution- Significant engineering work experience a private, public, government or military environment- Extensive proven experience of leading high value capital investment projects, driving change, leading a high performing engineering team across a complex multi location region- Strong leadership/management experience.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of building effective working relationships with business partners across a complex global organisation- A Business acumen proficiency and the capability to understand the capital investment strategic or operational plan’s financial implications to business client(s).- Experience with Automation (Robotics) leading to labor reduction cost out

Role location - EMEA wide responsibility

Relocation package - will be considered

Travel: upto 50% domestic/international travel
