Marie Curie Doctoral Fellowship Epigenetic Memory

vor 3 Wochen

Bern, Schweiz Universität Bern Vollzeit

A 3-year PhD fellowship in regenerative biology is available at the Institute of Anatomy at the University of Bern, in Switzerland. The fellowship is part of the REGENERATE-IT doctoral network, funded by the Marie-Sklodowska-Curie Action (MSCA).

Our group is particularly focused on understanding heart regeneration in the zebrafish (see). We recently found that cardiac fibroblasts get activated in response to injury, and during regeneration, change from a pro-fibrotic to a pro-regenerative and quiescent state (see).

Tasks

The PhD student will carry out a project that uses epigenetic single cell profiling to understand how different cell types contribute to heart regeneration in the zebrafish.

**Requirements**:

- Master's degree in life sciences, molecular biosciences, bioinformatics or computational sciences.
- Preferably have previous knowledge and/or practical experience in molecular, cellular, developmental biology, genetics, bioinformatics, zebrafish model.
