Responsible for the execution of all incoming and outgoing shipments of materials, instruments or equipment to meet customer expectations. Performs duties that may utilize various systems / TMS / WMS / ERP involved in receipt or preparation of materials for shipment. Performs a wide variety of planning, scheduling, coordinating and reporting tasks in support of manufacturing and product development. Maintains compliance with relevant local, country and international guidelines.
Executes on global shipping strategies and communicates the vision to our strategic shipping partners.
Maintains efficient and cost-effective transportation.
Works collaboratively with customer service and related functional departments within the organization to meet common goals, key factors and cost savings initiatives.
Serve as primary interface between the customer and the carrier to resolve shipping discrepancies.
Knowledge of Global Trade Compliance and ensures adherence to domestic and international shipping regulations.
Ability to communicate how regulations will influence shipments to internal and external audiences.
Operates in a high-performance culture within the Logistics team that embraces DBS, lean methodology, and sustainability.
**General Requirements**:
Three or more years of supervisory or management experience in the transportation industry, with extensive knowledge of the terminology, complexities
Associate's or b achelor’s degree in business or technical field, preferably in logistics or transportation management or equivalent experience.
Excellent computer skills utilizing spreadsheets, ERP systems and logistics software packages.
Strong written and verbal communications skills; demonstrated ability to interface with customers and carriers at various levels.
Effective planning, organization and documentation skills.
Proven ability to effectively perform in self-directed environment.
Must be a team player and able to provide direction and support to team members.
Flexible, open to change and able to handle ever-changing priorities.
Willingness to accept ownership and be accountable for specific factors.
