**Primary French Teacher**
60% - 2-year contract - August 2024
Scope for a 90% with a combined role

**Responsibilities**:

- Deliver the teaching and learning of French throughout the primary school effectively
- Motivate each pupil to develop competencies, knowledge and skills in hearing, speaking, reading and writing in French in accordance with each pupil’s ability
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behaviour needed to provide an orderly, productive and effective classroom environment
- Provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil
- Interpret to pupils the culture of Switzerland and the culture of other countries where French is spoken
- Provide positive learning experiences which develop basic and developing communication skills, making effective use of IT and other materials to support the programme
- Provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment enabling children to reach their potential
- Participate in professional development and contribute to regular staff training/meetings
- Contribute to a programme of trips, excursions, fieldtrips and extracurricular activities

**Qualifications and skills**:

- Bachelor in Education, PGCE or equivalent
- Native fluency in French, good level of English a plus
- Scope for a 90% activity rate with a combined role with the AfterSchool Care Program (until 6pm)
- Proven track record of excellence in teaching with at least three years’ experience, ideally in an international environment
- Be an organised, proactive and excellent communicator and team player
- Have the ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload
- Be able to inspire mixed culture and ability classes, by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students
- Valid work permit and clear criminal records
