6000+ The number of scientists in the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR). We are currently seeking a Research Scientist to join the Translational Profiling group within the Chemical Biology and Therapeutics department and to join its Basel based imaging labs.-
- Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Performance of in vivo pharmacology procedures including injections of imaging and therapeutic agents, blood sample collection, animal necropsy, and tissue dissection for ex-vivo analysis
- Hands-on research animal (mouse and rat models) handling
- Research using optical imaging systems
- Execution of laboratory protocols and critical analysis of experimental data
- Detailed documentation of experimental procedures and processes
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication of data
- Work independently and collaboratively to achieve program and company goals

**Minimum requirements**
- What you will bring to the role:
- BS in biology, pharmacology, or related scientific discipline or equivalent Aprentas (Apprentice) qualification and training
- 1-3 years direct, hands on experience in an in vivo imaging lab. Experience with Microscopy would be an advantage
- Detail-oriented with strong ability to critically review protocols for imaging best practices and to execute in vivo pharmacology procedures
- Experience with in vitro assay development
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic and multi-disciplinary environment. A collaborative and innovative mind-set is essential
- Minimum LTK-1 certification

Desirable:
- Cellular assay development and confocal microscopy experience or willingness to learn would be a plus
