In coordination with scientists, you will perform tasks of moderate variety and complexity using test and laboratory equipment like GC-MS, FTIR, DSC and TGA.

**Your Tasks**- Perform industrial research in the area of high voltage gas insulation for high-voltage electrical power devices-
- Preparation and characterization of samples (gas, polymers, ceramics, composites, metals) used in high-voltage apparatus, employing a wide-range of experimental techniques such as DSC, TGA, IR spectroscopy, XRD, cross sectioning, SEM/EDX, X-ray, optical microscopy-
- Contribute to root-cause analyses of materials failures, FMEAs, materials qualification and specification processes, in interdisciplinary teams between materials science and electrical engineering-
- Evaluation and documentation of results and measurement methods-
- Coordination of materials analysis services, prioritization of incoming requests from business R&D and of pending materials analysis tasks to ensure timely delivery of results-
- Close collaboration with scientists and engineers from Hitachi Energy Research, development centers and external laboratories around the world**Requirements**:
- You are trained chemical laboratory technician, associate degree or certificate in chemistry, materials science or related field-
- Experience in laboratory work and know-how in experimental methods such as GC-MS and FTIR, DSC and TGA Highly conscientious individual with keen sense of responsibility-
- Proficiency in English language, any other language is a plus**The opportunity is temporary for 6 months.**
