**About the Role**:
The role of **Global Head of Services** is split into two distinct parts, covering both the directing and sponsoring of company-wide sourcing and procurement activities, as well as leading the global functions of real estate and facilities at Thomson Reuters. It holds the financial responsibility of driving sustainable efficiencies across a supplier cost base of over 1 billion US dollars, with simultaneous improvements in the quality, competitiveness, and service levels of our suppliers.

Furthermore, the role encompasses the streamlining and optimization of our real estate portfolio, as primarily driven by our substantial M&A activity. Thomson Reuters has over 110 rooftops worldwide in support of our office and news bureau needs, for which this role is responsible.

Reporting into the Chief Operations & Technology Officer, the Global Head of Services will manage a global team of ~40 people.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Sourcing and Procurement****:

- Determine current and future sourcing needs based on Thomson Reuters’ corporate strategy and establish the strategic direction for procurement
- Champion partnership thinking between our strategic supplier base (e.g., Microsoft, Amazon, Salesforce) and our businesses
- Lead long-term strategic sourcing plans in alignment with business partners
- Lead executive business reviews with our strategic suppliers to maximize value for Thomson Reuters
- Leverage our scale to drive supplier efficiencies, driving consistent and sustainable cost reduction
- Continue driving ongoing procurement transformation/optimization efforts
- Represent our sourcing/procurement activities in front of our senior executives and board of directors, as necessary
- Ensure appropriate mitigation of supply chain risk, minimizing financial and operational threats to our business
- Drive procurement performance transparency and oversee key reporting metrics
- Manage, support, and optimize the tools and processes used for transacting with suppliers
- Attract and develop the necessary talent to build a distinctive and successful sourcing organization

**Real Estate****:

- Direct the global functions of real estate and facilities, achieving global consistency
- Ensure our real estate strategy reflects our location strategy, anticipating the needs for our business in the years to come
- Align office needs with our hybrid model, making them a modern and engaging place for our colleagues
- Direct the facilities management team, ensuring appropriate maintenance of all our locations worldwide
- Drive cost savings and avoidance in our real estate portfolio, particularly as we add new locations resulting from M&A activities
- Represent our real estate activities in front of our senior executives and board of directors, as necessary

**Skills and Experience**:

- A strategic ability to develop high impact sourcing/procurement and real estate & facilities management strategies
- Thought leadership in the areas of procurement and real estate, and is recognized as a functional expert in this space
- Strong commercial awareness, consistently placing the needs of our business at the forefront
- A capability to drive innovation and growth through self-funding initiatives
- Strong relationships with key influencers across our big vendors and partners
- Outstanding cross-functional leadership skills, able to get commitment from critical stakeholders in a collaborative and timely manner
- Solid analytical and negotiation skills, with a keen understanding of the key issues that are important for our business and stakeholders
- A capability to balance between strategic thinking and tactical execution
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, and a strong ability to adapt communication styles to key stakeholders
- Strong management skills with an emphasis on people development, agreeing challenging performance objectives for their teams and providing regular feedback and coaching
- A strong tendency to lead by example, living the values of Thomson Reuters
- Willingness to “constructively dissent” and challenge senior executives’ thinking on key issues

**Qualifications**:

- Master’s degree in business, finance, or related field. Advanced degrees and certifications are beneficial
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in procurement and real estate management roles, preferably in a global company
