Technical Assistant - USP (100%)
**Job description**:
We are looking for a motivated Technical Assistant to support the USP Team by executing fermentations and analytical tasks.
This challenging and diverse position will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Perform In-house fermentations, including bioreactor preparation, sampling, cleaning;
- Execute sample analysis by using SDS-PAGE, HPLC, Western Blot, etc.;
- Cloning of expression systems for microbial production of DARPins;
- Maintenance of lab and instruments;
- Support other functions if needed (Downstream Processing and Formulation & Analytics, potentially Lead Generation, etc.);
- Presentation of results in team and project meetings.
**Requirements**:
For this position, we are looking for a highly motivated individual bringing along:
- Apprenticeship as Biology Technician or related field or BSc degree in Life Science;
- Profound experience with microbial fermentation and bioreactor handling;
- Experience with standard Molecular biology techniques like: plasmid isolation, purification, analytics and cloning;
- Experience with Analytical techniques is Plus (HPLC, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot);
- Experience in downstream processing or in mammalian cell culture is an asset;
- Curious personality with excellent communication skills and team spirit, with a can-do attitude and excellent quality awareness;
- Proficiency in English, German is an asset.
