Manager Product Costing

The Manager Product Costing is responsible for supporting one of our critical manufacturing facilities in the US. The role will focus on understanding and analysing product manufacturing process and materials, to efficiently and accurately calculate the cost of our important life saving products.
The role will form part of a newly formed Product Cost Hub, focused on developing the most efficient, fit for purpose, next generation automated product cost process. A key enabler of success in the role will be working closely with our Finance Business Partnering team at the sites, to ensure the connection points and level of support meets requirements. In addition, working with our COE to develop reporting and insights to better understand the manufacturing performance and product cost profile, as well as supporting the automation principles around our product cost process.
**Role and Responsibilities**
- Collaborate with the Site Finance Business partner team to develop a robust and value adding product cost function, contributing to the establishment of improved insights and analytics to drive better decisions.
- Analyze yield or other product costing inputs required for budget, with oversight from Product Cost Hub Lead and in collaboration with Finance Business Partnering team onsite.
- Provide analyses and explanations for all requests from external auditors for product costing including manufacturing variances. Calculate manufacturing variances for all planning cycles including annual revaluation of standard costs.
- Provide inputs for and initial review of month-end variance calculation, reporting & journal entries related to specific aspects of product costing. Provide commentary of drivers of manufacturing variances to Site Finance Business Partners for communication with the stie’s leadership team.
- Support preparation of product cost master data (Bill of Materials (BOM) / recipes) and collaborate with MDG team.
- Drive product cost automation efforts, in collaboration with our COE and Analytics team
- Complete analyses of costing results and resolve costing run errors.
- Support and contribute to the develop of product cost analytics, to improve process and product cost insights.
- Work with master data governance team to streamline process and improve accuracy of product costing efforts.
- Complete data requests, analyses, and commentary for Tax to meet their deadlines.
**Background education, past experiences and skills**
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline; MBA or other advanced degree in Accounting Qualification desirable.
- Controlling/accounting experience in various areas (5-7 years)
- Experience dealing with US based group preferable.
- Healthcare/pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of standard costing, financial analytics, modelling and planning
- Experience at dealing with different levels of stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Timely decision-making skills, priority setting, drive for results and self-motivation,
- Organizational agility, managing vision, flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Strategic thinking, good commercial and business acumen, ability to successfully develop business relationships and builds bridges.
- Work cross functionally and across all levels.
- Digital and technology affinity
- Fluent in English, German would be a plus.
- SAP S4/BPC and MS office package experienced.
