Diabetes technology encompasses the hardware, software, and devices, that people with diabetes (PwD) use to manage their condition. PrecisionLab, led by Prof. Jose Garcia-Tirado, will impact Diabetes Technology on two main fronts: (i) by the design, testing, and deployment of the next generation of fully Automated Insulin Delivery (fAID) systems (a.k.a. Artificial Pancreas) for insulin-dependent diabetes with and without adjuvant therapies and (ii) by the design, testing, and deployment of Decision Support Systems (DSS) for people either under multiple daily injections (MDI) or Sensor Augmented Pump (SAP) with and without non-insulin glycemic-lowering agents. Our goal is to propose “set-and-forget” systems alleviating the disease burden for those with the condition.

Tasks
- Design and build the electronic interface
- Simulate and read out electronic signals

**Requirements**:

- You need to be currently enrolled in Bachelor or Master studies at a Swiss University
- You have the ability to be on-site in Bern one day during the week.
- You have a strong background in electronic circuit design, PCB layout, and embedded systems.
- You are familiar with microcontrollers, sensors, and wireless communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi)
- You have excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
- You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- You have excellent English language skills
