**Chair of Research**

Your Tasks
- Further develop and execute the general strategy of the research and development department together with the Scientific Advisory Board
- Oversee and manage the Research Group Heads and Research Management Head
- Proactively provide advice, support and guidance to the research and development team members in order to improve the quality and impact of our research and achieve our goals
- Manage the operational research business and in doing so, create optimal framework conditions for the department
- Oversee the research project portfolio and establish responsibilities
- Monitor the impact of our research (bibliometric indices, scientific societies, third-party funding, progress of projects)
- Meet with Research Group Heads regularly to review department research metrics and strategic initiative progress
- Develop and maintain effective relationships and networks with key stakeholders involved in research - including industry, academic partners, and foundations
- Coordinate and monitor collaborations with academic partners
- Advance the national and international reputation of our department by means of research excellence and dissemination with a unifying theme through increased conduct of funded clinical research, consistently strong enrolment in clinical studies, increased publications, and representation of our research at national/international conferences
- Maintain a highly productive research operation with a national and international reputation
- Participate in project reviews to assure the quality of project work and results and enforce adherence to research guidelines
- Analyse and review clinical trial reimbursement and support for contract and budget negotiations of industry-sponsored clinical trials and complex non-industry clinical trials
- Actively engage in research initiatives and lead and contribute to their own research projects within our department

Your Profile
- PhD or MD (preferably with PD) with a documented track record of scientific merits, preferably within musculoskeletal medicine or epidemiology
- Managerial and assertive leadership skills
- Proven experience in research funding acquisition and financial administration
- Established networks and collaborations in national and international musculoskeletal research communities
- Academic affiliation preferred
- Experience with clinical trials, data science or new technologies in orthopaedics
- Several years of experience in a similar position
- Significant experience with mentorship
- Significant evidence of experience in program/project leadership
